The human body is inherently a system of seamless networks
of tissues rather than a collection of separate parts. These
connective tissues, called fascia, actually surround, support
and penetrate all of the muscles, bones, nerves, and organs.
Rolfing works on this web-like complex of connective tissue
to release, realign and balance the whole body, thus resolving
discomfort, reducing compensations and alleviating pain. Rolfing
aims to restore flexibility, revitalize your energy and leave
you feeling more comfortable in your body.
A complete initial Rolfing treatment of ten to thirteen sessions
is arranged in natural segments that address related areas
of the body. Individual sessions are typically 75-90 minutes
long. They are scheduled at convenient intervals ranging from
one week to one month.
Typically clients wear clothes that
allow me to observe the body's structure, such as underwear,
bathing suit or spandex workout clothes.
During our sessions
I will systematically address different areas, tissues and
layers of the body. Using fingers, hands, and elbows, I work
slowly through layers of tissue to release built up tension.
Results can be dramatic.
All kinds of people, from infants to seniors, sedentary,
moderately active, highly athletic, and those suffering from
chronic pain can find new comfort and energy in their bodies.
Professional
athletes, business people, dancers, children, people from all
walks of life have benefited from Rolfing.
